Hybrid Scooter Cuts the

Extension Cord

For those whose scooter batteries sometimes leave them stranded far from an electrical outlet, this gas-electric hybrid scooter may be just the thing. Invented by a man with polymyositis, it goes between 50 and 100 miles on a half gallon of gas.

Check it out online at www.mda.org/publications/Quest/extra/qe14-1_do_it_ yourself.html, along with these other innovative designs:

N A trapeze to aid in rising from the toilet

N A way to play piano and recorder even with weak fingers

N A syringe holder for feeding tubes

N A hidden urine bag system that provides users with all-day independence from trips to the bathroom
